Beginning with an onstage debut at the age of twelve, Kimberley Lynne has acted in, stage-managed, written and produced more than forty dramas, comedies, musicals, children’s theatre productions, screenplays and videos. In 1983, she graduated from Loyola College of Baltimore with a B.A. in English/Fine Arts, and, for the ensuing five years post-grad, she worked in professional Legion of Regional Theatres (LORT) theatre, first as in stage management and finally as the head of the properties department at The Shakespeare Theatre at the Folger. She is an Equity stage manager and currently production managing for Baltimore Shakespeare Festival.

Since 1992, fourteen of her stage plays and one of her screenplays have been produced in the Baltimore/Washington area. Genres range from historical drama to sci-fi comedy to romance to murder mystery. Lynne has been commissioned to write several works, including Love for Words, The Good Seed, and A Dickens of a Carol.

A good literary mimic, Lynne can imitate period voices, as in Love for Words and The Last Battle of the American Revolution, as well as speak in her own modern one. Appreciating that theatre can teach as well as entertain, several of her performance in education plays, including Weird Sisters and Clowning Around with Shakespeare, are traveling through the Maryland public school system via the non-profit organization, Young Audiences of America. Lynne’s theatre company, Day Before Yesterday Theatre, produces two of the education plays, Founding Rebels and The Last Battle of the American Revolution.

Lynne has recently been awarded by Writers Digest Writing Competition for C.Y.A. and Write Angle Productions for Two Degrees of Hon Separation.

The Starting Gate Summer Project has been created as part of our mission to "nurture artist and audience". Each year, this will allow members of our Board the opportunity to stretch themselves as artists, tackling works that excite and challenge. A shorter run and an eye on economies will permit the presentation of works that lack the name recognition or obvious marketability of our regular season.
