Production dates are Nov 7-30, 2008 in St Paul, with a remount at Pioneer Place on Fifth in St Cloud from Feb 26-March 15, 2009. Stipends paid for both runs. Auditions will consist of readings from the script and will be available on our website at www.startinggate.org/auditions.asp. (see sides posted below)

Needed are 4 men and 2 women. Character breakdown is as follows – Paul Bratter – 20’s to early 30’s, Corey Bratter 20’s, Mrs Banks 50’s, Victor Velasco 60’s, Telephone Repairman 30’s or older and Deliveryman 20’s-30’s.

Neil Simon's comedy focuses on a newlywed couple, Corie and Paul Bratter, who are setting up house in a minuscule fifth-floor walkup apartment in a downtown Manhattan brownstone. Paul is a straight-laced attorney, Corie a far more spontaneous free spirit. The two must contend with a lack of heat, a skylight with a gaping hole, several long flights of stairs, oddball neighbor Victor Velasco, and Corie's well-meaning mother, in addition to adjusting to married life.
